Our family has had the opportunity to associate with many business professionals in the Northern Virginia area over the years. In my professional life I deal with officials at all levels of government agencies, corporations and state and community organizations. However, I can honestly tell you that we have rarely if ever been involved with an individual like Dave Newell.

We recently sold the home and property at which we had resided for twenty-two years, and bought another home. At the same time my mother-in-law sold her condominium and moved into our home. This required us to find a property that would "fit" our new circumstances. This entire process would have been much more complicated and painful but for the excellent assistance of Dave Newell with each of the transactions.

A short time ago, following a period of illness, we began to face up to the fact that we probably should move to a retirement home. Then we began to face up to the much more difficult fact that we would have to sell our home of almost 25 years.

At that time one of our daughters suggested that we contact the realtor who had helped her in buying a home. That realtor was Mr. Dave Newell. We followed her suggestion, and in so doing, made one of our best decisions.

After conferring with us in our home, Mr. Newell recommended that we do a bit of updating to our place, which would result in bringing in a higher price. We mentioned that at ages 83 and 79, we simply didn't feel up to all the disorder that would cause in the midst of our downsizing. He cogitated a moment and then responded with, "I understand and that will be all right."

While we were in the process of showing our home, he was always patient and considerate. He was available at any time, answering all of our questions. He was also alert to any repairs that we should make, any replies we should give, and manifested business wisdom with the utmost courtesy. This was the case right on through the settlement. Consequently, what we rather dreaded as an ordeal, became a blessing. By the way, we received a higher price for our house than we had asked. Working with Mr. Dave Newell was a delight.

Two years ago I wrote to you commending Dave Newell for his expertise in handling our real estate transaction.

Now I must tell you that while that was good, the transaction yesterday surpassed that!

The papers prepared by the settlement company had more than several errors, which were immediately picked up on by Dave--saving me well over $500. Dave's "going to bat" for me with the insurance claim is also very much appreciated.

In 1993, as a recent college graduate, I purchased my first home--a one bedroom condominium unit in Annandale--with the assistance of David Newell. I was most impressed with Dave's honesty, integrity, and deep knowledge of the local market.

In 1997, my work relocated us abroad. I rented out the condo and continue to do so today. It turned out to be a great investment. I owe much of the success of this property to Dave, his assistance finding and buying it, and his recommendation--based on his many years of experience--of an excellent property manager.

In late June 2004, I was reassigned to Washington, DC. My previous experience working with Dave was so pleasant and professional, I called upon him again--this time as a careerist and father of three with a pregnant wife--to buy another home. I also referred to Dave my parents, who recently relocated to Northern Virginia.

In my case, once again, Dave proved his ability to take much of the stress out of the process. He was efficient, courteous, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the local market and trends. Given the drastic changes in the buying/selling process in Northern Virginia over the past few years, I was really glad to have Dave at my side to explain, counsel, and advise. We intend to live in this new home, a townhouse in Burke, for a few years, and when I am again assigned abroad, I will rent this property out. I will again turn to the property manager originally introduced by Dave. Several years down the road, we will undoubtedly return to the Washington area and I will again turn to Dave to find our next home. Indeed, your office will enjoy my loyalty and patronage as long as Dave is working there. He is a fine fellow, a solid citizen, and a superb agent.
